EST
combines
innovative approaches with proven practices to help our clients succeed in
meeting their mission goals.
Since
its start, EST has demonstrated its ability to combine knowledge with
technology to manage complex
interdisciplinary contracts. The company currently is working with a variety of agencies
within the
U.S.
Department of Health and Human Services
(DHHS) under multi-year contracts.
Among
the highlights of
EST's history are:
-
Being selected by the
Administration
on Developmental Disabilities
(ADD) to serve as the conference manager for the first joint ADD/Department
of Homeland Security
(DHS) Working Conference on Emergency Management and Individuals with
Disabilities and the Elderly. Held in June 2006, the conference
brought together approximately 500 delegates and non-delegates from all
50 states. DHS Secretary Michael Chertoff was one of the many
notable speakers at the conference. In addition to handling all
logistics, EST was responsible for coordinating six other companies who
provided support for this effort. Of particular note was the use
of the conference Web site - designed and maintained by EST - to disseminate
the large quantity of information and documents involved in the meeting.
-
In November, 2005,
managing the first conference for Evaluating Abstinence Education
Programs: Strengthening Programs through Scientific Evaluation for
the DHHS, Office
of Population Affairs
(OPA). More than 300 persons attended the conference. In
addition to all conference logistics, the contract called for management
of the scientific review process, including setting standards for
selection of reviewers, retaining reviewers, and making assignments.
Extensive publication work was required both before and after the
conference. EST also provided support on the second conference,
held in March 2007.
In 2004, EST was
authorized by the U.S. Small Business Administration to participate the
federal 8(a)
and Small and
Disadvantaged Business (SDB) programs.
EST continues to grow its technical skills and in the scope of its work.
The company looks forward to the future and continuing to incorporate into
its services the many technological tools available to provide better,
faster, more efficient services to our existing and new clients.
